Hi Dave,

You can get the governor removed and it'll then go way higher. Someone
in the Smart club my wife was a member of had a video of theirs (Tuned)
doing over 120 mph.

It was too small when we had our first child to take my wife, the baby
and all the other stuff you need to cart around with you. She got a
Subaru Forester instead.

Adam.

The smart is not for everyone. As is the Hummer. The Honda Accord is
popular that thieves love them!

The smart has a governor to limit the top speed to 90 MPH but the speed
odometer goes to 100 MPH. I have gone 80 MPH with no problem. Yes,
officer, I was just coasting down the mountain with tail wind and trying
to keep up with the truckers.. <BG> One lady asked me if it swayed on
the highway and I said no. Then she called me a lying... Well, it does
have electronic stabilization so it doesn't sway that much. One time I
was on a highway in high winds and a gust came up and kinda woke me up.
But, I think any car would felt the same way.

Normally, I would not buy a brand new car because I don't want to pay
for that depreciation. I get more smiles per mile with my smart to make
up the difference. :-)
