Depends on what you want to do with it, of course. Local, deployed, hosted? Hosted on which OS? Packaged, custom? VFP, Perl, Python, Ruby to access? Each has mostly standard SQL like VFP, more standard than Oracle. Triggers and Stored Procs and RI are different than VFP, as they are in every product. Both are powerful DBMSes. More 3rd party support for MySQL. More license questions, too. Why just those two?
