Maybe your state is in the habit of grabbing the "stimulus" checks and sending them your way? Well you have to be on their, the states, system for that to happen? Have you filed non payment status and put a clamp on his income yet? -- Stephen Russell --------------------------------------------- That's part of the problem ... when the custody issue was resolved there wasn't a "formal" case in the Friend of the Court system yet so there isn't an official order in place yet. For the last 6 months we've been trying to get that done but Mr. DeadBeat hasn't been cooperating and the legal system moves slowly. We had to go to court to ask a judge to sign an order that states the Friend of the Court has to do an investigation of income .. and the deadbeat has to cooperate. Of course, the Friend of the Court is backlogged so that took a while before they did their investigation. And of course, when Mr. Deadbeat filled out his paperwork, he wasn't truthful so the investigation wasn't valid. So that means we had to get another court date to stand in front of the judge and ask for another court date where we can present our objections and evidence. The system sucks .. get a court date to ask for a court date .. and you have to pay your lawyer to write up the "motion" and go to court the first time .. and then you have to pay the lawyer to write up what was said in court in an official order and take it to the judge to sign .. and then there's the lawyer time for the REAL court date .. and on and on and on. Once it's finally resolved .. child support will be calculated retroactive back to December 2007 .. but in the mean time .. the deadbeat goes on with his life not paying any child support. At this rate the kids will be out of the house, married, and with their own kids before I ever get a dime of child support from their father.
