SO I bought my grandparents house back in 1992 after they both passed away. My mother was living there until 2005, and the house has been unoccupied since as we have been trying to make the necessary repairs and sell it. The problem is we are short on cash so it's been taking a long time, and since the market sucks right now, we've just been taking our time putting it on the market.
So tonight I go over to check on the property (I have a regular lawn care company take care of the outside weekly) and I have neighbors that keep an eye out, and to my surprise three of my 3o-foot cedar trees are just gone. Apparently the neighbor to the back of me didn't like the way they looked on his side of the fence, and instead of trimming his side of the fence, he just had someone come over and cut them down. So I called the police and he admitted to the officer that he did cut them down because he didn't like the way they looked from his side of the fence and that the pine needles were getting in his pool. Mind you he never complained to me, sent me a letter, or complained to the town. He purchased the house a few years ago and the trees are 38 years old, so they didn't grow much the last few years, so he knew what they looked like when he bought the house. I can understand him trimming any overhanging branches, but to cut the whole trees down? The trunk of the tree is a good 3 or 4 feet from the property line, and cedars are wider on the bottom than on the top, so it couldn't have been much on his side, and I would have gladly trimmed it if I knew it was a problem. This is the most surreal night I've ever had. To make things worse, I hand-planted these trees when I was 6 with my Grandmother and Grandfather and I'm heartbroken over this. The police haven't filed a criminal complaint yet, and the officer wasn't sure whether this was a civil or criminal case. So now I have to talk to my attorney and see how to proceed. This is absolutely nuts. _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
