A friend of mine took the recent GM offer to retire early.  He is going into
Hotel management and out of automotive parts distribution.
There are millions of people who use to make a good living because of some
connection to the Auto industry.  A lot of them are not unemployed because
of shifting from BIG to a cheaper replacement.
Detroit bet the farm on cheap oil and is eatting dirt now because of it.
Unfortunate for all of those families who were tied to making auto parts and
shipping them up to the Detroit area for assembly.
