There are places in the known and unknown universe much older than our Milky Way galaxy, which is relatively young, so it is possible that intelligent life exits somewhere in the universe evolved billions of years beyond our current state. Consider the progress human civilization has made over the last 500 years and extent that pace of progress forward for a couple of billion years to contemplate the possibilities of what we might achieve. Ponder ET life that exist today with the power it would take us another couple of billion years to achieve. With the possibility that such a powerful ET intelligences exists, perhaps you could make ET your God, but I believe there is a power in the universe that even ellipses ET. Yes, I believe even an advanced ET intelligences would worship God.
