It appears Russia will be withdrawing from Georgia.  Still, Georgia is a 
small country within the Russian sphere of influence, which leave the 
USA with few options when situation should as this arise:

I don't recall ever calling President Bush a liar or a thug.  I did call 
into question the wisdom of starting a war with Iraq, when Iraq was 
never an imminent threat to the USA.  Later, when it became clear that 
the justification for the war with Iraq was not true, (eg Saddam had no 
WMD and clearly was not an imminent threat to the USA), I had to 
question whether the Bush Administration was fixing the 
fact/intelligence around a policy to wage pre-emptive war Iraq.  That 
question in the minds of many people has never been fully resolved to 
this day.

I don't think it's appropriate to use the crisis in Georgia to posture 
along political partisan lines, when the emphasis should be on a united 
effort to help the people entangled in the Georgia-Russia military conflict.
