All I know is I am replacing my Suse Enterprise Server v-10 with Ubuntu v-8.04. For my needs it does not make sense any longer to pay Novell an annual subscription (license) fee for their add-on software. And Ubuntu has proven itself to be just as stable (both are extremely stable) as Suse.
I just turned my HP ze2000 laptop into a dual-boot XP Pro/Ubuntu Linux machine the other night. I guess I got boted <g>. Seriously, now I surf fearlessly on the laptop. I was surprised at how easily the laptop accepted Ubuntu 8.04, and how all WiFi and Ethernet connectivity just plain old worked. Very smooth.
