For serious business people: there is only three choices Windows XP Professional, Vista Business, or Vista Ultimate. And for most businesses it really boils down to Windows XP so the choices are even easier <g>. Ah, so you're the guy who likes to go into Blockbuster and only see 1 movie in the store. Anything more than that is confusing. And neighborhoods where all the houses are different? Too confusing!! The only reason that there are only a dozen or so Windows 'distros' out there is that a) Microsoft actively EOLs them and removes them from the market and b) only Microsoft can create a distro. You could download any distro, change a few things here and there, and re-package it as 'VinceWare', making it an even 350 distros on that pulldown. It's not that hard to do. And the thing is that most of these distros are extremely similar except for some superficial aspect. There are a few that are specialized for specific uses, but unless you have a particular need for such a system, you can ignore these. Really, there isn't that much to decide. For regular folks, Ubuntu is the default choice, with Fedora a close second.
