My point was actualy not to do with time scale but the changes from one to another Linux type. I mentioned 3 but it does seem to happen often enough to confuse as to which is the best one. Its no wonder it does not make inroads into the desktop. Allen

I think that theoretically, if you repartition and reformat . . . of course, that is not an "update". But the larger question would be if the 1994 machine will run a 2008 OS of any flavor. The Puppy and Gentoo systems are supposed to be configurable to whatever you have but I have not tested this very extensively. I basically just tossed out all my prior to Pentium II machines. I do have Puppy running satisfactorily on a P II. -- Regards, Pete _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
