I am thinking a FF3 removal will not revert you to FF2, although IE7 removal does revert one back to IE6 (one good thing about IE being tied in so deeply with the OS I suppose). So I think you will find uninstalling FF3 and reinstalling FF2 is the best you will be able to do. I do have FF 2.0.0.4 on my ftp Server, and can open it for anonymous access if you want. Just speak the word and it is yours for the downloading.
