RPOF Announces Changes to Convention Schedule

Minneapolis–Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer will announce
in a briefing to Florida Convention delegates today that there will be
several changes to the Florida Delegation events in response to
Hurricane Gustav. Chairman Greer has decided to change the format of
Monday’s breakfast honoring the Florida Delegation. The breakfast will
now be a multi-denominational prayer breakfast focused on the potential
impact Hurricane Gustav will have on the Gulf Coast.

Chairman Greer announced that Thursday’s Florida Convention Sunset Party
will be cancelled and the funds will be donated to the American Red
Cross to assist those affected by the storm. Also, the Republican Party
of Florida will provide a link on the homepage of our website,
www.rpof.org, to direct donations to the American Red Cross. The link
will be up shortly.

“There are big and small ways that we can all help during emergencies,
and this is our way of helping,” said Chairman Greer. “Florida
Republicans will continue to show solidarity with our neighbors on the
Gulf Coast.”

The Republican National Convention will announce changes to the 2008
Republican National Convention schedule in a press conference today;
Florida Republicans and convention participants can stay updated by
visiting the RPOF’s blog. http://www.rpofconventionalwisdom.blogspot.com/.

Earlier this week, Chairman Greer was named to the Affected States
Working Group, which was formed to manage information and concerns for
affected delegates.

If you wish to designate your donation to a specific disaster please do
so at the time of your donation by either contacting 1-800-HELP NOW or
mailing your donation, with the designation, to the American Red Cross,
P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013.

You can also contribute to the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund. The Fund
is managed by nonprofit Volunteer Florida Foundation, which manages
Governor Crist’s initiatives in community service and volunteerism. The
mission of the Florida Disaster Recovery Fund is to raise funds to help
Floridians with recovery from natural disasters through strengthening
families and rebuilding communities. You can donate through the website
