Jean, you simply don't get it, my friend. Just because I promote a particular Christian-based moral world view does not mean I have, want or can exercise tyrannical control over my children, and they are somehow obligated to be pureness and light. Nor are their moral failures my fault or moral failure. (Nor does it mean I want to impose it on you.) In fact, we are all sinners, from conception in fact; and children make poor judgments because they have not yet internalized this basic fact of the moral order of things and sought salvation. All I can do as a loving parent is a.) love and support them through their trials, and b.) move on with my life when they make mistakes. Getting pregnant out of wedlock is wrong, but it need not be a tragedy, and there's nothing about it that is unforgivable. Having the baby shows fortitude and moral strength on her daughter's part, and supporting her daughter and fiancé as family shows sincerity on Palin's part in a way that bowing out of the race just because of it possibly could have. Mom loves her daughter unconditionally, in the way God loves us. The worst thing Palin could have done is turn down this opportunity because of her daughter. This would have put a mother-imposed life-long guilt complex on the girl, that she was the reason her mom couldn't be Vice President. As it is, her mom's solid support of her and her fiancé will blunt the Left's assault on their family, intended to put a Scarlet Letter on both mom and daughter. This is going to backfire, big time, on the Left. - Bob > > A+ > jml _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
