FireFox is now at 3.0.1 and I downloaded it recently. So far so good. I have 
had no problems and
most of the add-ons I use work (SnagIt was the only one not working as far as I 
can tell). It
appears to me to be faster, but not night and day faster.

I think the biggest issue is the add-ons for most people. Some people are 
struggling with
performance, but I think this is a minority of users. Some people screamed 
about the fact FireFox
uses the now more common Windows Internet settings, but this is non-issue for 
me.

It is easy enough to replace with FireFox 2.x so the risk to installing the 
newest is low.
