Hi, > Thanks all, I found the solution, you shuld modify C:\Boot.ini adding > /PAE switch and Windows can recognize more than 4GB on RAM
Make sure you test your system carefully afterwards. Many drivers do not work with PAE enabled which is why PAE is disabled by default and can only be enabled using low level meanings (Boot.INI on XP, BCDEDIT on Vista). The effect is relatively low though. The operating system needs more memory to manage the extended pointers which eats some of the memory you gain. 4 GB is an unfortunate amount. Even with a 64 bit system you don't end up having more memory since a lot of the system needs twice as much memory as before. It makes sense when you have more than 4 GB of RAM. -- Christof _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
