I usually use this code to launch Excel via automation:
if upper(vartype(thisform.oExcel)) <> "O"
thisform.oExcel=createobject("Excel.Application")
else
thisform.oExcel=getobject( , "Excel.Application")
endif
The above code was derived from the Hacker's Guide by Tamar Granor and
others.
However, if I wanted to know in advance whether an instance of Excel is open
in the user's computer, is there any API call or function that would tell me
this]
And if there is, could any of you post the code to accomplish this]
