Hi Helio!

Young-earth Creationism? That is not a mainstream faith.

I studied Theology at the University of Detroit. The bible scholars
there said that the 7 day creation period is symbolic. "Day" means a
time period, an age. "In the day of creation" could be one day or one
million centuries. There is no Catholic dogma about what the "day" was
in the book of Genesis.

In the Gospels and Epistles of the New Testament, "day" means 24 hours
or sunrise to sunset, depending on the context, except where it refers
to Old Testament days.
