Adam,

Actually, not so. Coke was an 8-oz drink in a glass bottle. People served OJ
in 4 oz juice glasses. My mother owned a restaurant, and a normal breakfast
meal was 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, and 2 slices of toast, or perhaps three
pancakes in a 'stack' with syrup. In those days a lot of the portions people
ate in restaurants or got out of vending machines were actually a lot
smaller. Of course, people themselves were a lot smaller in those days and
had appetites that helped them stay that way.

Gorging ourselves on super-large portions everywhere we go is a recent
development.
