If you go back and read the job description for the position "Chief of 
Staff", you will see it's more a managerial position than a political 
position like being a senator or a congressman, so partisanship should 
not enter as much into the equation.  Besides, President Obama, as the 
boss, will set the tone which must be followed by all those who are 
working for him, and president Obama is committed to bring the country 
together.
