I tried Virtual Box, but I use static IP addresses within my local network, and it's a little complicated to set up the eth0 bridge in Virtual Box. Also, once I had the bridge setup, my XP Pro virtual machine would only connect to the local network about 1 out of every 5 boots, so I abandoned it. VMware automatically create the eth0 bridge when it installs, and assigning a static IP address to the window XP Pro virtual machine to join the local network always connected without any problem. Virtual Box is probably OK if you don't need static IP addresses.
