Its funny that the programs you mention are available for free on Linux. Or windows for that matter (open office). But I know what you mean, it's the programs that don't appear on Linux. Allen

Linux is great for servers. Linux is great for applications like cell phones, pdas, cable TV boxes, dvrs gps machines, etc. Linux on the desktop is not going to happen. If I went into my customers and said "Let's change everything you have over to Linux", they'd fire me. They are all used to Excel, Word, and all the programs that they've purchased and installed themselves for their own specialty businesses, all which are not available for Linux. Great for kiosks, singular applications like cash registers or predictive dialing machines, but not for the all-purpose office computer. _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
