I strive to understand the truth, and I don't care where that takes me. "Let god be true and every man a liar" works for me. So does "be ye not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." You may recognize those phrases. I am a contrarian and an experimentalist by nature, when it comes to ideas. I don't feel like I need to fit in someone else's definition of normal or sane, nor do I need to apologize for holding a view that is unpopular. I don't mind a little mental bungee jumping from time to time, it helps clear the cobwebs and is always a leap of faith that new understanding is at the bottom and the tether of honesty will keep you from smashing your head against it. I believe in reason, but pure logic by itself is like having vision only, but not hearing, or touch but not taste. As far as my Christianity, which you've also impugned, I confess I have a way to go on my walk of discipleship (who doesn't?), but I earnestly try to understand what's happening in the spiritual realms and to test the spirits. If like Helio you really don't believe in these things, then I understand and respect that. But you claim to be Christian too---then you mock me personally. I have hesitated to respond to your name calling, ad hominem attacks on my character, and other attempts to ignore my actual arguments so you can fit me in some nice little toy box and amuse yourself, out of respect.
