What if popular == herd mentality == sheep lead to the slaughter? What if conventional wisdom == being conformed to this world == not being covered by the blood of the lamb? What if measuring one's views against opinion polls != being transformed by the renewing of your mind? What if not fighting the temptation to espouse and easy view that seems right to you intellectually or socially but your spirit tells you is wrong == leaning on your own understanding? I could go on. Hopefully you recognize a few turns of phrases from somewhere. > When reading your posts almost ALL I read is opinions that are at great > odds > from the conventional view. I offer more than that. Maybe you should read more of what I post than just my unconventional opinions. I offer fairly detailed personal glimpses into my life, I offer the things I struggle with, I offer detailed stories about how this or that view of mine changed over time. You have this caricature of me that, I'm sorry, looks nothing like me. But in this YOU are definitely NOT alone... > While I'd be the first to say that > conventional > views have a lot wrong with them, not all of them are wrong and > certainly > not all wrong all the time. When you are always the lone voice it is > perhaps > time to take a self-check on why that is so. But it isn't so, that's what is so funny about this "discussion." Folks who agree with me on this or that (some of whom rarely post) chime in, and contradict you (or others like you) regularly. It happened today. It happened yesterday. It's not a new phenomenon. I provide lots of documentary evidence that there are sufficient numbers of people who are thinking from a similar angle (I have no need or desire to think identically to anybody--save for Christ, whose sandals I am not worthy to strap, so to speak), that at the very least the claim I'm "all alone" is easily refuted. Why you have some deep need to isolate me I'll leave to your psychiatrist, or better still to your pastor, assuming they're different people. Why it even has to BE a popularity contest, I have no idea. I speculate that your spirit knows I'm right about a few things you desperately want me to be wrong about, which is why your soulish nature is making such "unbalanced" efforts to attack me personally and paint me as some kind of locust-eating lunatic in the wilderness like... well, like John the Baptist... - Bob _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
