Could your problems be the result of moving classes back and forth between different versions of VFP?
The VFP 9 (8?) added support for storing additional object meta data via XML properties. This info may be lost or corrupted when you start round-tripping forms and classes between versions? All conjecture on my part - perhaps this idea may spark some ideas from others on this list.
