I don't need my own web site to use LgMeIn (or did I misunderstand the concern?). Just go to logmein.com and sign up for their LogMeIn Free product. I use their logmein.com site, with my UserID/Password to access all the remote machines across the US. You can use IE or FireFox, and it can host in Windows or Mac OS X v-10. It does not host Linux yet, but Linux with FireFox can be used as a client to connect to a Mac/Windows LogMeIn hosting machine.
Too easy to use sometimes, very easy setup, very powerful. Best deal going, even the Pro version is a great deal with its remote print and file transfer capabilities.
