With the free version of LogMeIn I use an ftp client with ZipGenius to upload/download files to/from my ftp server. It is a decent workaround for large files, with or without being compress. But the Pro version does have file transfer, as well as remote print support. Well worth the price of admission for the Pro version. But, that said, I find the free version to be quite powerful unto itself. I still like pcAnywhere, and use it for older client locations. But frankly I can do without any more VPN/Port Forwarding tutorials for wanna-be IT Managers who do not know what the hell VPN means to begin with. This levels the playing field, and lets me stick to my core business as opposed to going into a training session on VPN and Port Forwarding with every new client. Quick, dirty, simple, free (or cheap with Pro version).
BTW, ZipGenius is free (zipgenius.it), supports a ocmmand line interface, and allows for true encryption. I no longer use WinZip Pro, as ZipGenius has all the same features, for free. They also have a free ftp client app. Gil > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]]on Behalf Of Nicholas Geti > Sent: Friday, February 27, 2009 7:42 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [NF] Using pcAnywhere > > > I use it also but the free version does not transfer files which was my > original intent in asking the question. > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Frank Cazabon" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Friday, February 27, 2009 3:56 PM > Subject: Re: [NF] Using pcAnywhere > > > > Hi Nicholas, > > > > I use teamviewer or logmein, both have free versions and work great. > > > > Nicholas Geti wrote: > >> If I want to have a customer remotely connect to my pcAnywhere > Host, is > >> there a way to push down the pcAnywhere remote program to the > customer or > >> does he have to buy a copy? > >> > >> > > [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
