The GM retirement plan is guaranteed by the US government or so it
seems from what I have read.  If they fail, they still get paid by the
tax payer instead at no loss.  Sucks for the rest of us.

Because of this little tidbit i think the government is trying real
hard to duct tape them for the short run.
