Below are a few excerpts form an article about President Obama's attempts to help the USA auto industry. A link to the full article can be found towards the bottom of the post.
Most criticism of the Obama Administration's "American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan" are ethos from critics of the past who objected to President Roosevelt's efforts to deliver the economy from the Great Depression of the 1930s. One of my favourite authors, John Steinbeck, wrote a novel about the hardships of this period called, "The Grapes of Wrath", which you should read, if you haven't already, or take the time to watch the move with the same name( eg second link below). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Grapes_of_Wrath http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9022016584178907197 #------------------------------ Excerpt: President Obama said Monday his administration has "no intention" of running General Motors, even as the White House demanded the resignation of the automaker's CEO and called for a "better business plan" before considering lending additional government aid. #------------------------------ #------------------------------ Excerpt: Officials say they are "confident GM can survive and thrive as a company ... but it will take more significant restructuring." No decision has yet been made about how much working capital the government will provide GM during the restructuring period. #--------------------------------- http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/03/30/obama-auto/ Regards, LelandJ Michael Madigan wrote: > I guess Bill Ayers or Reverend Wright will take over. > > http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0309/20625.html > > > > ************************************************* > Join the OBAMA RESISTANCE MOVEMENT! > > http://www.cafepress.com/rightwingmike/6181419 > [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
