They're going to get less far in getting anyone to move to New Orleans. I would not want to live in a place that was right on the ocean's edge, and was below sea level! At $45/hour they may find some takers, as housing is so inexpensive out there right now. And for folks that know VFP that are finding it hard to get work it may be attractive. As much of a hate/love relationship I have with NO (love the culture, the folks I met out there, the rich history, the music and the great food; hate the humidity, poverty, smell of the alleys behind Bourbon Street), I really would never want to live there. What happened in NO the other year is tragic, but I can't believe it could and would not happen again. What is surprising is it took so long for NO to get hammered so hard to begin with.
