        Umm... they don't have the code.

        VFPX is add-on only. They cannot change existing stuff. Fortunately,  
there are lots of hooks in VFP that make a lot of cool stuff possible.

        But do you think that VFPX could remove the 2gig limit? Make it run  
on Macs or Linux?

        Once you release code with a particular license, you can't "un- 
release" it. Since open source licenses give you particular rights, no  
one can take them away. Microsoft licenses, OTOH, allow Microsoft to  
change the terms of the license whenever they like (Win2K SP3,  
anyone?), so you are assured that you have no guarantee whatsoever.
