Linux and Unix seem cryptic to those who have not used it, but the cryptic nature of Linux diminishes relative to one degree of use and study of the OS.
Today, many of the commercial version of the OS can be administered from well designed GUI with no need to remember command line syntax or read the manual enter on a command. Even many free version have improved in this regards. Definition of cryptic: 2. incomprehensible to those not familiar with the culture or jargon; as, the new insurance policy is written without cryptic or mysterious terms.
