Charles Does any 16-bit application work? For example starting from a state where you know FPW will fail to start, can you hit the Start button, select Run and enter
Edit in the run box. This will start the old 16-bit MS-DOS EDIT.COM. If it starts, then the issue is with FPW. If it doesn't, then it's a wider issue with the 16-bit subsystem in Windows. Which is WOWEXEC/NTVDM. If it seems to be confined to FPW, check your config.fpw doesn't have anything odd in it. Also I would try removing the driver for the Officejet to see if that is the problem. If it is then I would try and get hold of a PCL5 or PCL5e or PostScript driver off HP's website. If that doesn't work I would go onto Microsoft's support site and search under 'troubleshooting NTVDM startup errors' -- Alan Bourke alanpbourke (at) fastmail (dot) fm _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
