>> My question is all of my research, development and testing has been done
with the runtimes in the applications folder. Will there be any issues
with installing VFP7 and VFP9 normally on Vista and leaving my
application in the applications folder?<<

No issues with the runtimes being placed into their standard location under
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP.

You just need an installer that can install the merge modules.

Most of the issues people experience is data in the application folder
getting virtualized, and the visual problems with VFP if you are not using
VFP 9 SP2 and some best practices if you are not.
