I'm responding from Open Office Writer, so I can at least see what I'm typing. Then I only need worry about spelling and grammar. LOL I'll cut and paste into the email reply when done. I'm not sure where Firefox is on Ubuntu. On my Fedora 10, its on /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.10, but the plugins are installed in /usr/lib/mozolli/plugins , I think. That's not really your problems, though. All of your Firefox settings are in your home directory somewhere under a fixfox or .firfox directory. I'm guessing your Firefox is crashing when initializing during reading your bookmarks, extension, addon and other personal settings from your home directory. Each user can customize Fedora and their setting will be save in their home directory. Try creating another user and log into Ubuntu under this user, and I bet Firefox will start, because, new user will essentially have no setting; unlike you.
