I use WordPress on my site, for many of the same reasons. They now
have updates down to "click here to upgrade", and it's set in about 5
seconds total. I have a cron script running on my site that backs up
all of my MySQL databases, including the WP one, and mails the result
to my Gmail account, which has plenty of room for it.

Also, DreamHost, where I have my sites, has one-click (and
slighty-more-click, if you want more control) installs for several
packages, including WordPress and Drupal. They also have a 97-day
money-back guarantee and a nice referral program, so if anyone wants a
referral code, ping me offlist. :-)
