Maybe they see that you have your act together but for every person like you there are now 2 people who do not have their medical self together. It may be that they had a job that gave them coverage and the job is history. Could the plant be closed to the recession, or was it closed to make more money for the stockholders and have the actual work done in Asia? No matter. The primary problem from my POV is that health insurance is based upon the shoulders of industry. If you have a job you are lucky because the job is funding that health care fee. The next largest complaint I have in Healthcare Insurance is that if something happened to you or your family you are in essence blacklisted. Nobody else "has" to extend coverage and you are at a total loss. Another issue is this. I know of a young man who declared bankruptcy last year @ 26 because he was stupid on his motorcycle in a parking lot. Showing off to the girls I bet ;) None the less his medical bill for what we think was primary face surgery came to approx .3 mill dollars. They kid works part time for the University putting in geo phones for the earthquake center all around Memphis. He hopes he gets the full time position from the U when the freeze thaws. > The current system is riddled with government intervention and, like the > mortgage industry, experiencing huge inefficiencies as a result, but the > solution is not a giant, costly, impersonal bureaucracy, as they ultimately > wish to impose.
