Good point re: iPhone and GPS. But, that said, I decided to try out AT&T TeleNav on my Bold while in Puerto Rico the other month (business trip, really it was, I spent time with my clients and working on client projects for most of the trip). I found the local maps worthless as San Juan does not have street signs like we do on the mainland. The street names are painted on corners of building, maybe. I was able to use TeleNav while walking around and did very well with it. I have GPS units in both our cars, but find TeleNav (which feeds from a live server) has the latest info re: streets. In LA (and other major cities) it has traffic alerts and allows me to navigate around congestion. Sure, it is another $10 per month (business expense, deductible. I have to be able to find my clients, after all!), but well worth it. So, do not let GPS ability push you to iPhone or BB alone. Both are capable systems, although I believe the iPhone GPS has its nav feature included in its monthly fee (I may be wrong), whereas the BB is another $10/month. The BB GPS itself works for free, but harnessing it for TeleNav is the price part of the equation.
