Peter, Here at the office, my limited internet connection wouldn't let me get the file. At home, I needed to update the flash player, but I finally saw the beginning of the flash file where I saw the blue square you talked about. Personally, I'm not into the flashy eye candy, leave me on a Windows 2000 look and feel and I'm good. I also do a lot of things in the Command Window and Terminal windows in Linux.
The interface you've built is purdy, just not my cup of tea. I still think this is related to a lockscreen issue. I'd investigate the splash screen, since it's has a lot of see through to it. However, the conversations you've had about it led me to believe it's doing its job with GDI+. There is a way make a hole in the middle of a form with API calls, which might be happening in the code. I have tried sending it of to the left with a _Screen.Left = -5000 And I have tried setting _Screen.LockScreen = .T. at the same point. It then runs through to the point were the Splashscreen is shown. The SplashScreen set the properties back to normal as it closes to display the application. The only thing happening in the main.prg which is not used in other applications is the code which calculates the height of the screen and the height of the taskbar to get the application to display normally. I had to do something here as without it the application displayed 2/3rd of the screen height/width with the close, zoom, minimise buttons off to the right out of sight. Anyway I have tried with that area of code commented out without success. If you've come across this sort of thing before then I think I will spend some time with main.prg to see if I can isolate the area of the code at fault. At the moment I am tending to veer towards a problem with Arg-CommandBars.vcx. Set-up some users both as standard and as administrators, problem still there. Problem still there with no other apps running but yet to try with AV etc disabled. I have noticed that if I open a form then the object has the pattern or text from that form placed on it. I have some early backups of the main form with much less work done and I can also modify the example code from Arg-Software to see if the problem occurs there. The Splash screen is created with a number of timers making various part of the Splash disappears with time to give a feeling that the Splash is gradually fading. It uses the GDI plus code to skin the form and only display various part of it. That is not Working on windows 7, The whole form is displayed and the timers don't appear to do anything. It works OK on XP machines where VFP has not been installed. VFP has been installed on one of the Windows 7 machines. I have created a Video of the application but it is quite large at 364 meg. I can upload to my website if anyone wants to view but be aware that it is not finished and the sound track is poor (Need to get my wife to do the speech) She would do it so much better. I will try converting it from "AVI" to "Flash" and see if that helps with the size. Does the strange object show up when run from another user account on your workstation? XP or Vista? Standard Windows theme of custom theme? Any other software running in the background? I would try to isolate the environments which cause the strange object to appear. Then I would try turning off as many 3rd party background tasks as possible (virus checking, etc) to determine if the object's appearance is caused by a 3rd party application or your own?
