Well yes it does (excel seems to take over) and I can't find how to stop it.
As I said if I open the message in outlook I can save it as CSV even with
excel on the machine. It is only webmail (exchange server thingy) and only
on pc's with excel on it. I have already been in and changed the CSV to
notepad in file options.
Just been in and changed the .csv in regedit and even that doesn't work

Yep, and Excel is a bugger for insisting on opening them when when you
have CSV associated with a proper CSV editor.
