Hi Rafael, Old Compaq was good goods. I had a 486 DX50, c. 1993, it took an upgrade to 32MB and 6GB to run Win 95 loaded with a Backpack CD and got on the web with a PCMCIA 56K modem. If a friend of mine hadn't wanted it I would still have it with some flavor of Linux on it. She screwed up and let her antivirus run out, though, LOL. Winders likes viruses. >> Vince Teachout wrote: >>> Pete Theisen wrote: >>> >> Expanding on that a bit, I could do that until I had enough extra $ to >> fix the monitor, then give that laptop to my wife (mine's better) and >> have her give hers to our daughter (hers is better than our daughter's), >> then donate our daughters (old IBM thinkpad) to somewhere.
