Hi Jean,

Probably not fake. Typical in red-neck areas. He must have had a 
triggering device behind the strainer basket. Looks like a scissors 
cutting a string.

Squirrels are like cats. Always seem to land on their feet and suffer no 
injury. The squirrel will be right back and try it again as soon as it 
is set up. If it were me I would trap the varmint and take it on a one 
way ride far, far away. Far enough that he would never follow me back.

Squirrels are so plentiful that they are considered pests. Lots of 
people have dogs to kill the squirrels. Some breeds are more effective 
than others. People used to shoot them even in town until the lefty-libs 
got so much power.
