Did you uninstall VFP 9, reinstall VFP 9 RTM, install VFP 9 SP2, and then
install the service pack? That is the respected best practice. If you are
running Vista or Windows 7 you probably should consider purging your virtual
drive, or consider keeping files you might have changed including FFC class
libraries.

Chances are pretty good that you have a mismatched version of the runtime
files with the C5 errors. The runtime files do not belong in the Windows
System folder. They get installed in the C:\Program Files\Common
Files\microsoft shared\VFP folder. Each installer should handle that just
fine.

The recommendation for runtime files in the app folder is one approach for a
runtime application, not a development machine.

Rick

I'm sure I must sound like I'm thick, but I'll take the risk anyhow
How can I tell if I've downloaded SP2 hotfix 1, 2 or 3 ?

I downloaded and installed SP2 form MS site
Immediately, all my EXE files refused to run and recorded problems in the
VFP9err.log file
Fatal error: Exception code=C0000005 @ 11/10/09 10:09:18 AM. Error log file:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP\vfp9rerr.log
I had to manually replace the VFP9r.dll and the vfp9renu.dll files in the
\windows\system32 folder

Someone here suggested placing these in the app folder instead
I think it's a good idea
