Parents of Children Skipping School Face Criminal Charges in Memphis
http://bit.ly/4qHBWu

from the article "Under the program, children who miss five or more
days of school have the option to be paired with an adult mentor
instead of facing prosecution for skipping school. The parents charged
did not respond to notices sent to them regarding their children’s
attendance."

Reads like the parents don't care. Maybe they don't understand what
they are sent? mmmmm.
