OK, it is time for me to come clean. The answer is.... D.) I enjoy watching Ricardo make an ass of himself. He seems to hang on every post I send, pouncing and pouncing like a kitten on a toy mouse, no matter how many times it is wiggled in front of him the same way. True, his "arguments" are all-too-predictably ad-hominem, he seems on a mission to save everyone else on ProFox from my harmless OT musings and animadversions (perhaps because he thinks they're too stupid); he fancies himself a kind of amateur Hannibal Lecter; and, literally, would not have any original literary output of any significance whatever but for the opportunities I give him to spout off. Yet, Ed's archives are digital proof in the cloud that some asshole in Argentina named Ricardo exists, whose most significant accomplishment is that he has written a dozen or so reactions to every one post a peculiar fellow named Bo---, er, Publius Maximus :) ever wrote. So, the sad answer is, I do it all for Ricardo. ;) He's made great progress, as mental kittens go, and I must confess I admire his verbal brutality much like I admire the stunning mercilessness of actual kittens when they acquire a taste for blood. You don't want to be a field mouse or, here in Florida, a gecko, or a baby squirrel, in the paws of one of these supposedly domesticated beasties. They're downright nasty. Correction: I'm sorry, I mean Ricardo XIV (the first thirteen prototypes being sent back to the manufacturer for a full refund...and this defective model apparently is doomed to the same fate....) :) - Publius "It ought never to be forgotten, that a firm union of this country, under an efficient government, will probably be an increasing object of jealousy to more than one nation of Europe; and that enterprises to subvert it will sometimes originate in the intrigues of foreign powers, and will seldom fail to be patronized and abetted by some of them. Its preservation, therefore ought in no case that can be avoided, to be committed to the guardianship of any but those whose situation will uniformly beget an immediate interest in the faithful and vigilant performance of the trust."
