Mike,

> Bill -- what happened to living in the RV?

The north/south circuit was a great way to stay in continuously good
weather, and I really loved the lifestyle and adventure of it, but I had to
stop for a while for the sake of business. I've teamed up with one of my
brothers who lives on Long Island, to automate his business, and part of the
deal was that I'd be nearby to get it started. I also had to focus all of my
attention on the project. We've since finished the requirements list and
it's in production now.

Marketing is still a problem. I've got all the materials and mechanics in
place to support a distributed telemarketing effort (around a shared MySQL
database), but we have yet to find the right person for the job. The core of
the problem, it seems, is that while we're willing to pay a generous
commission, people want "bird in the hand" cash for hours. I've worked up an
analysis of different pay scenarios and the one we're offering is clearly
the most generous, but it is results oriented. It has to be this way because
there is no $ for still more investment.

There's still a laundry list of things to be done (e.g. I see the "cloud" as
a big deal), but we've grown comfortable with the remote connections
(VNC/inet server/email/phone), so the need for meetings has fallen off. I'm
thinking next stop is somewhere rural, probably near two of (my three)
daughters who live near each other along the Delaware River between NY and
PA (about an hour from Scranton).

It's hard to say this is good news, because it means I'm getting old <g>,
but I'm now retired (IBM is paying Prodigy retirements + early Social
Security), so I'm not worried about money to stay alive anymore. There were
times when that was a problem.

How about an update on yourself? How's Fabmate doing?

Bill
