I find Bing quite useful and use it about 40% of the time with Google getting the other 60%. Bing maps are more accurate in my experience too. I am not sure about the pop-ups you are talking about. I mostly use FireFox, but I don't see them in IE8 either. Not even warning messages about pop-ups being blocked.
