Dave, I'm on Windows 7 Professional and had a similar problem with other applications.
I now install all my applications to folders off the root which seems to work fine. At some point I'll get my act together (been saying that for awhile<g>) and will create a root folder for all my programs similar to what you suggest. BTW: For you guys across the pond, shouldn't that be Programmes vs. Programs?
