Has anyone ever considered that, perhaps there's just a tiny chance that the existence of the OT has helped to keep the list alive? I appreciate that many don't have the time or inclination to read the OT (myself included) but I'd say 100% of the active posters to the on-topic list have been around this water cooler since the beginning. I'm willing to put up with some oversights now and then, even if it is the same people who seem to forget time and time again.
