Another way to approach this is to set up a page such as a PHP page with a form on it. From your application you can HTTP post to this form the "To:", "Subject", and "Body" of the email message. Even a "From" address. This PHP page can then take care of actually sending the email for you from the domain that you are hosting.
I do my error messages this way from my applications. This way the user just needs HTTP access which is much easier than configuring the email to be sent directly from the application.
