Years ago. However, at that time I was still doing desktop apps for
clients, and Dabo was my effort to move that chunk of business to the open
source world.

At this point for me Dabo is a labor of love. I have been at Rackspace
for over two years, doing nothing but web apps all that time, and I still
consider Dabo my project. We have lots of users all over the globe, and it
gives me great satisfaction to know that I am creating something that is
helping others create their solutions.

One thing that I did do in response to having to live largely in
Javascript and HTML was to develop the whole approach of creating Dabo as a web
application that, instead of trying to fit into a traditional web browser,
would run over the web as a rich client application. I did a talk on this at
PyCon 2009, which you can see here: http://blip.tv/file/1947542/
